About This Dog

Marty's ideal home

Marty is a handsome 6-year-old Jack Russell Terrier with a sweet nature and a love for adventure. He's looking for an adult-only home where he can enjoy a calm and understanding environment with owners who will help him continue building his confidence.

One of Marty's favourite things in the world is playing with toys, especially tennis balls! He can become a little possessive over high-value items, so he's currently learning helpful skills such as "drop" and "swaps." His new family will need to continue this training and give him space when he has something particularly special to him.

Marty would love a home with his own secure garden where he can safely enjoy time off lead and burn off some of his terrier energy. While he enjoys meeting and walking with dog friends out and about, he would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can have all the attention to himself.

This little adventurer is always ready to jump in the car and head off to explore new places. He has previously been left alone for up to four hours, although this may need a little refresher once he settles into his new home.

To help Marty succeed, his adopters will need to attend training sessions at the centre before and after adoption. With the right guidance, patience, and understanding, Marty will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend.
