Minnie is a lovely Terrier cross Bichon who is looking for a patient and understanding family to call her own. Having come into our care from a home, Minnie has already settled into home life before. She is housetrained and is happy to be left for a few hours, making her a great companion for someone with a steady routine. Minnie can find other dogs a little intimidating, so she is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. That said, she can enjoy walks alongside calm, respectful canine companions who can help her build confidence and show her that other dogs aren't so scary after all. Like many dogs, Minnie isn't a fan of vet visits and finds handling at the veterinary practice worrying. To help everyone stay safe and make these visits as stress-free as possible, she wears a muzzle when being examined.
Minnie will also need regular brushing to keep her coat healthy and tangle-free. Grooming can make her feel anxious, so she'll need a patient owner who is willing to take things slowly, use plenty of positive reinforcement, and help her learn that being brushed can be a pleasant experience. Minnie values her personal space when she's resting and doesn't like to be disturbed, so she's looking for an adult-only home where her boundaries will be understood and respected.
