About This Dog for Adoption

Apple's ideal home

If you are after a sweet older companion who loves nothing more than a cuddle and a comfy spot to nap, then Apple might just be your perfect match. At 11-and-a-half-years old, this lovely Jack Russell Terrier is looking for a peaceful home with owners who will enjoy her gentle nature and give her all the affection she craves. Apple could live with children aged 8 and up, or younger if they are used to dogs, and while she would be happy living as the only dog, she could potentially share her home with her best friend Cider. She cannot live with cats or small furries. She has low exercise needs and is happiest pottering about, having a sniff, and then heading straight back for some fuss. Any time left alone will need to be built up gradually once she has settled in.

Could you be Apple's perfect match?

Apple is a delightfully affectionate little lady who thinks laps were made especially for her. Despite her age, she is full of life and love, and makes friends wherever she goes. She walks nicely on her harness, takes treats gently, and is friendly with strangers, often making a beeline for a fuss. Apple enjoys being brushed, is relaxed at the vets, and is happy to be picked up for a cuddle. She is not currently housetrained in kennels, but she knows the basics and will settle well into a home where she has the chance to explore calmly and adjust at her own pace. Apple is not interested in toys—her favourite things are food and affection, and she is not shy about asking for both! While she has not done much travelling, she is unfazed by traffic and could adapt in time. All she needs now is a cosy corner and someone to adore her. While Apple does not need to be rehomed with her best friend Cider, they are very fond of one another and would certainly be a heartwarming duo if the right home came along for them both.

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
