About This Dog for Adoption

Barley's ideal home

Meet Barley - a sweet and sprightly 13-year-old Jack Russell Terrier cross with plenty of charm to share. Through no fault of his own, Barley has found himself back in our care and is now looking for a calm forever home. Despite his age, Barley still enjoys life's simple pleasures: a gentle stroll and a comfy spot on the sofa or your lap to relax. He’s content being left for a few hours and settles nicely, making him a great companion for someone with a relaxed routine. Barley enjoys meeting up with other similar sized dogs but wouldn't like to share his home with one. Barley can be uncomfortable with overhandling so he'd be best suited to a home with older children (teens) who can understand his cues and give him the space he needs when he asks for it. Barley may have a few years under his collar, but he’s full of character and would love nothing more than to find a peaceful forever home.

Could you be Barley's perfect match?

Now enjoying the comforts of a loving foster home, Barley has settled in wonderfully and quickly made himself at home. His gentle presence and charming personality have already left an impression on everyone he meets. Barley does have some skin allergies and is currently on medication to help manage arthritis, but these don’t slow him down from enjoying his golden years to the fullest. Whilst Barley loves having a cuddle and a fuss, he isn't overly keen on being picked up or overhandled so he is looking for a relaxed household that can give him space when needed but also provide plenty of cuddles when the mood strikes. Could you offer Barley his next forever home?

Jack Russell Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
