Poppy's ideal home

Poppy is looking for a calm and loving home to relax in and enjoy her golden years, with adopters who will take her on pleasant strolls followed by afternoon naps. She is looking for her own space to rest an relax without being disturbed so can live with children aged 14 and over who can play nicely with her when she wants and can see when she needs her space. Poppy can be worried by other dogs so is looking to be the only pet in the home, she would be happy with calm and polite walking buddies. Poppy has some training under her belt, she does a lovely “sit” and “paw”, she can be convinced to do training with a treat or two, she is fully housetrained. She would like her own secure garden to potter around in and explore at her leisure. Poppy settles nicely in the home and could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this would need to be built up once she has had time to settle in. Poppy will need to meet her adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

She likes a gentle fuss and will happily sit next to you on the sofa, she can be quite an independent girl and likes to rest in her own space where she will not be disturbed. We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
