About This Dog

Hugo's ideal home

Hugo is a 10-month-old Jack Russell Terrier cross Toy Poodle, also known as a Jackapoo. He is a sweet young lad who is looking for a quiet, understanding home where he can continue to build his confidence. Hugo would need to be the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats or small furries. We don't have any history of him around livestock. He is looking for an adult-only home with minimal visitors, as he can be worried by new people and finds the world around him a little overwhelming at times. A quiet home and access to peaceful walking areas would be ideal for Hugo. He can find heavily populated areas and loud traffic worrying, so his new family will need to be patient and help him gradually build his confidence at his own pace. Hugo can be left for up to four hours once settled into his new home.

Could you be Hugo's perfect match?

Hugo is a sweet and affectionate chap who has lots of love to give to the people he knows and trusts. He enjoys nothing more than a cuddle, sitting on his humans' laps for a tummy tickle, or curling up for a nap on a soft bed or chair. Hugo walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys exploring quieter areas, particularly walks through fields. He will need continued support with his confidence and socialisation around other dogs, as he is anxious around them. When it comes to playtime, Hugo loves his honking duck toy and enjoys a good game of tug of war! He is also very fond of his treats, with cheese being a particular favourite. Hugo is good when being groomed and already knows some basic commands, including sit and stay. Hugo is looking for patient and understanding owners who can provide him with the calm, quiet environment he needs while helping him grow in confidence. In return, he'll be a loving and affectionate companion who will bring plenty of cuddles, fun and personality to his new home.
