About This Dog

Jesse's ideal home

Jesse is a two-year-old Terrier cross with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. She is looking for a patient and understanding home in a quiet rural location, with peaceful walking routes right on the doorstep and a secure garden where she can feel safe. Due to her noise sensitivity, she wouldn’t cope in a flat or on a busy road, and she needs adopters who are happy to take things at her pace, gradually building up her confidence in the areas she struggles with and introducing new experiences slowly and positively. She will need adopters who are home for most of the day and can build up her alone time gradually until she feels secure. Jesse has previously lived with teenagers aged 12 and over and could do so again, provided they are respectful of her need for space and calm. She would benefit from patient owners who are willing to work alongside our training team, giving her the time and reassurance she needs to blossom.

Could you be Jesse's perfect match?

At home, Jesse is a sweet and affectionate companion who loves curling up beside you on the sofa for a cuddle. Although she may follow you around at first as she settles in, she soon relaxes and is content to snooze peacefully while you go about your day. She is housetrained and enjoys pottering in the garden, and while she can be easily startled by sudden noises and will bark to let you know if someone is at the door, she greets visitors warmly once they’re inside. On walks, she can feel worried when she spots other dogs and will often choose to turn away rather than engage, so she needs someone who will help her feel safe without pressure. In quieter areas, especially on a longer lead where she has space, her confidence grows. She also enjoys playing with her toys, sometimes tossing them in the air herself and playing fetch. Jesse may have had a sheltered start in life, but with kindness, patience and gentle guidance, she can offer loyalty and love
