About This Dog for Adoption

Dude's ideal home

Dude is a gentle, friendly 8-month-old pup who’s still finding his confidence in the world. He’s affectionate once he gets to know you and would love a calm, reassuring person to help him come out of his shell. He can be fearful in certain situations particularly at the vets so will need ongoing support and confidence-building. When meeting other dogs, Dude tends to be wary and reserved, often with his tail tucked, but he’s formed a close and comforting bond with his kennel mate Dougie. We’d love to see them rehomed together, as they bring out the best in each other. He has medium energy and prefers a steady, low-stress environment.

Could you be Dude's perfect match?

Dude needs a calm, understanding home where he won’t be left alone at first, as he’s still working on feeling secure and settled. His training is a work in progress he’ll need gentle guidance with house training, lead walking, and handling. A secure, private garden is essential, and he’d do best in a peaceful household with children aged 11+ who can respect his space and pace. Dude cannot live with cats, other dogs, or small furries, but if you’re the kind of person who enjoys helping a nervous soul find his feet, and you have space in your heart (and home) for both Dude and Dougie, they could be the perfect pair for you.

Jack Russell Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
