Cider's ideal home

Looking for a cheerful little terrier with plenty of character and a big love of soft toys? Then Cider could be just the girl for you. This lovely 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier is a cuddle-loving, toy-ragging delight who still has plenty of spark left in her. She could live with children aged 8 and up (or younger if they are confident with dogs),and although she would be happy as the only dog, she could also live alongside her best friend Apple. She cannot live with cats or small furries. Cider is comfortable with regular visitors and enjoys making friends with new people. A quiet household where she can enjoy short, sniffy walks, curl up on laps, and have a soft toy (or three) to keep her entertained would be her idea of bliss. A private or communal garden would be suitable, as long as there are not too many stairs due to her age.

Could you be Cider's perfect match?

Cider may be in her senior years, but she is as full of love and playfulness as ever. She adores human company and wants to be as close to you as possible—ideally snuggled right up next to you with her favourite toy in tow. She loves playing tug or entertaining herself with soft toys (which she might occasionally shred in true terrier fashion). Cider is friendly with everyone she meets and has been good for her vet exams, she can be a bit wriggly when worried. She walks nicely in her harness, travels well, and takes treats gently. Cider is not housetrained in kennels, so may need a bit of support adjusting to home life. She may also be a little vocal when she spots people but is not getting their attention. She will need any time left alone to be built up gradually once she is settled in. With a comfy lap, a steady routine, and lots of love and toys, Cider is sure to bring joy to her new family—especially if they have room for her best friend Apple, too.

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
