About This Dog

Joey's ideal home

Joey is an 1 year and 11-month-old Jack Russell with a sensitive and nervous nature who is currently finding kennel life quite overwhelming. Although he is struggling with the busy environment, Joey does relax in his kennel and walks nicely on the lead once out and about. He is fearful of new people and is currently avoiding contact with his carers while he settles, so he will need patient adopters who understand that trust will take time to build. Joey has previously found meeting unfamiliar people stressful and would benefit from a calm, adult-only home with limited visitors where he can feel safe and secure at his own pace. He travels well in the car and is used to car journeys, which will help him adjust to new experiences gradually.

Could you be Joey's perfect match?

Joey is finding it difficult to socialise at the moment and is not showing much interest in toys or food whilst in kennels due to stress. He could potentially enjoy walking companions in the future, but introductions would need to be carefully managed with the right calm and understanding dog. Joey’s new family will need to be committed to continuing his behaviour and confidence training, giving him plenty of space, patience, and reassurance as he learns to feel comfortable in his new home. With time and understanding, Joey has the potential to grow into a loyal and loving companion.
