About This Dog

Rockie's ideal home

Rockie is a lovely 5-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Jack Russell who is currently enjoying life in foster care. He is a gentle, affectionate boy who can be a little worried when faced with change and may struggle to settle at first. His new family will need to give him plenty of time, patience and reassurance while he adjusts to his new surroundings. It may take him a week or so to truly feel comfortable, particularly after such a big change. Rockie is happy to meet new people and, once he gets to know you, he can be very affectionate. He enjoys exploring new places on walks, although he may need some time to build his confidence before fully enjoying new adventures. He is happy wearing his harness and receiving fuss, but his confidence is still growing.

Could you be Rockie's perfect match?

Rockie is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can settle at his own pace and receive lots of love and care. He can potentially be left for short periods, but this will need to be introduced and built up very gradually. Rockie may be able to live with another dog following a successful dog mix at the centre. He can live with secondary school-aged children who understand that he can be a worried boy in unfamiliar situations and will give him space when needed. At the moment, Rockie enjoys shredding and ripping his toys, but as his confidence grows, we hope he will learn to enjoy playing with them in other ways too. With the right family, time and patience, Rockie has every opportunity to blossom into a wonderful companion.
