About This Dog

Ethel's ideal home

Ethel is a gentle, easy‑going girl who would flourish in a quiet to moderately active home. She’s wonderfully relaxed indoors, settles beautifully, and is comfortable with everyday household sounds—she’s just a little unsure of the TV and washing machine from time to time.

Thanks to her calm nature and sweet demeanour, Ethel could happily join a family with primary‑school‑aged children (8+). She’s lovely around people, and as long as children can follow simple guidance around offering treats gently—since she can occasionally snatch—she’ll make a wonderful companion. Homes with visiting younger children can also be suitable with some thoughtful management.

Ethel does have some medical needs that may involve additional costs, and we’re very happy to discuss these in more detail if your application is shortlisted. If you’re unsure whether this is manageable, please don’t let it stop you from enquiring—we’d still love to hear from you.

She’s fantastic with calm, well‑mannered dogs and really enjoys gentle play. Ethel could live with another easygoing, non‑pushy dog who matches her vibe. She won’t be able to live with cats or small furries.

Could you be Ethel's perfect match?

Ethel is a delightful eight‑year‑old Jack Russell Terrier who’s ready for a fresh start after sadly losing her owner.

She has so much love to give and is looking for a family who will cherish her gentle nature. She’s an affectionate, easy‑going little companion who adores calm company and loves being close to people.

In her foster home, she settles beautifully overnight, and during the day she’s a lovely mix of curious, alert, and relaxed—often choosing to rest contentedly on her bed nearby.

Ethel is partially housetrained and making fantastic progress in foster, so with a bit of continued guidance in her new home, she’s well on her way to mastering it completely.

She has also shown she can be left for a couple of hours with no concerns. She simply settles on her bed, relaxes, and greets her carer calmly when they return. Once she’s fully settled into her new routine, her leaving hours can be gradually built up to around four hours.

Travel-wise, Ethel is a little star—she rides calmly in the car and takes journeys in her stride.

his lovely girl has a wonderful amount of sweetness, resilience, and companionship to offer, and she’s so ready to find her next loving home.
