About This Dog for Adoption

Bluey's ideal home

Bluey is a super special, 8, almost 9 year old Jack Russell looking for a new home to call his own. Bluey came to us from a very loving home, where his owner was no longer able to care for him and made the diffcult but right decision to entrust us to find him his ideal set up. A few years ago, Bluey suffered with his eyes and the decision was made by his vets to have both of them removed to avoid further pain and an emergency happening. Bluey copes so well with this, having lived this way for a few years now and still manages to be a typical terrier sprinting around the fields after smells, as well as successfully leaping onto your lap when prompted! Bluey is looking for a home that are either experienced with blind dogs or are willing to learn about all their needs and commit to making them comfortable as possible whilst living a fulfilling life. Bluey's new owners will need to advocate for Bluey whilst out and about, ensuring he is safe from obstacles and any unwanted situations, such as dogs running up to him, so that he can live his life stressfree!

Could you be Bluey's perfect match?

Bluey has spent time around other dogs in his previous extended family but understandlably, finds meeting new dogs worrying and doesn't like them being in his face or too boisterious. Bluey would need to live as an only dog in his new home and with any children being 13+ due to the sensibilities needed to accomodate a blind dog and because Bluey can get a little distressed in new situations. Bluey absolutely adores toys! He will happily entertain himself and explore different toys and chews and has had no problem being left along, curling up for a nap after a good sniff around and play time. He adores us humans, tap your lap and he will gleefully leap up onto it for a fuss and a cuddle. He really is a special boy and deserves an equally special new home to call his own.
