About This Dog for Adoption

Titch's ideal home

Titch is to be rehomed with Chico. They will need to be the only dogs in the home as Chico can be reactive to others. Children over the age of 12 should be fine, and both dogs are house trained though not really used to being left alone for more than an hour.

Could you be Titch's perfect match?

Tiny Titch was rather nervous when he came into our care but now he throws himself into his handler's arms with delight! He's really begun to enjoy exploring the centre and surrounding area and likes to have his pal Chico by his side. Their adopters will need to take things slowly with Titch at first, it's very tough being so tiny and thrust into all these new and strange situations. We've given him time to get to know us and he's much happier and more readily says hello to new people when he feels comfortable with someone he trusts. Titch has been fairly friendly with dogs when it's just him, but if Chico barks at a dog then Titch will copy him! It would benefit him to have some appropriate socialisation with small dogs. We believe Titch used to love playing with a football which sadly we haven't seen at the centre, but hopefully once he's settled at home that playful side will re-emerge.

Jack Russell Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
