About This Dog for Adoption

Little red's ideal home

Little Red is a chatty chap who is looking for a quiet home of his own. He was found as a stray and is currently very worried by handling. For this reason he is looking for an adult-only home with a secure garden all of his own. Little Red is able to live with another dog of a similar size to him provided they get on well in centre first.

Could you be Little red's perfect match?

Little Red is only 1 year old and looking for a family that will help build his confidence. He is a worried soul who needs time and patience to help with this. Luckily he loves training so would benefit from a family who are keen to pursue this. As he was found as a stray we don’t know if he’s ever experienced home life before. Things like housetraining and other basics might need to be introduced from scratch. We do think he’ll be ok being left alone for an hour or so though, and able to build on this once he’s settled in. He travelled well in the car on his way here and so once he’s feeling more confident there’s a good chance he’ll enjoy trips out and about with his family. Given the right support he’s going to be an amazing little companion, he just needs a chance to find his paws.

Jack Russell Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
