About This Dog for Adoption

Mouse's ideal home

Mouse is an adorbale Jack Russell who came to us as a stray and is now looking for an adult-only, peaceful retirement home. We estimate her to be around 10 years old, although she plays with toys like she is still a puppy! Mouse can be wary of new people and places, but once she has a bond with you, she is ever so sweet. She is worried by loud and busy roads, so she would like a calm and quiet home without too much passing traffic, preferably in a village or rural area, with access to quiet walking spaces. Initially, Mouse would just like a garden to potter about in as she gets to know her new environment, but she would be able to build up to short walks as she becomes more comfortable and confident. Mouse has some ongoing medical conditions we can discuss in further detail with any potential adopters.

Could you be Mouse's perfect match?

When Mouse comes out of her shell, she is really fun and friendly! She loves playing with her squeaky toys in the garden and having a gentle fuss with her favourite people. Mouse is fully housetrained and is fine to be left for a few hours once settled in. Mouse is currently living in a foster home; her carers tell us she is the perfect houseguest and a lovely, relaxed and happy girl! If you think you could be a match for sweet little Mouse, make sure you add her to your favourites when applying to adopt!

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Jack Russell Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
