Description

Basil's ideal home

Basil is looking for a physically and mentally stimulating home, with adopters who have the time to provide him with the training and attention he needs. He can live with children aged 12 and over who are comfortable with a bouncy, playful dog and will play with him nicely and give him space to relax and rest when needed. Basil can be a little unsure around other dogs so is looking to be the only pet in the home, he would benefit from friendly walking buddies to help him gain confidence in socialising with other dogs. He has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit”, he is a busy boy but is eager to learn new things in short, sweet sessions if a tasty treat is on offer. He will need a refresher on his housetraining in his new home so access to a private, secure garden is needed. Basil could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this must be built up slowly once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and would ideally be after a walk so he can relax and have a snooze! Basil will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Basil's perfect match?

Fun little lad Basil is a Staffy cross Jack Russell Terrier who loves his walks and is very excited and must sniff everything when out exploring the world. He LOVES chasing toys, especially a lure toy, he will chase round and round and once he has caught it, he will play a great game of tuggy with it. He is a foodie boy and will happily take anything you have to give, he does try his best to sit patiently and wait for it. This great little pocket rocket can’t wait to start a new life with his new family.

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
