Monty

9 weeks

Monty's ideal home

Monty is looking for a calm home with loving adopters who will take him on calm sniffy walks and give him all the care and love he deserves with a comfy sofa to snuggle up on. He can live with children aged 14 years and over who will play nicely with him and can read when he needs some space and let him rest. Monty can be a little uncomfortable around larger dogs, but could live with another small and calm dog who will happily co-exist, this is not a necessity though, he would be happy with calm and polite walking buddies, he cannot live with cats or other small furries. Monty has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit”, he likes a soft smelly treat so can be encouraged to focus if a treat is on offer. He has been housetrained but may need a refresher in his new home so access to a garden is recommended. Monty settles well in the home, so could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this should be introduced slowly once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and would ideally be after a walk so he can relax and have a snooze! Monty will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 – 10 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Monty's perfect match?

Sweet little man Monty is a 9 year old Chihuahua cross Jack Russell Terrier who loves his home comforts. He loves to potter around on sniffy walks and curl up on the sofa after for a snooze. He likes a soft smelly treat, he likes to eat them from the floor, rather taking from the hand. He will lean in to a gentle back scratch or a chin tickle, he will then wander off when he has had enough. He isn’t very interested in toys, he would much rather explore his surroundings. This cute guy is on the hunt for his new home.

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
